Hailing from opposite sides of the globe, Astarium (Russia) and Fire Messiah (United States) join together to bring forth a unique split of synth-heavy black metal. Focusing on topics such as supernatural dangers and the cold brutality of vengeance, each artist contributes their own distinct style of black metal while maintaining a cohesive sound between them.

Astarium, using old-school black metal with abundance of symphonic and atmospheric elements, praises the deities of the ice pantheon. On this part of split you can hear lyrics about the Morena, about the giants of Niflheim, about the Wendigo wandering between the worlds.

Fire Messiah brings a raw punk rock approach to black metal while also utilizing synths and symphonic elements to lay the foundation for songs about revenge, death, and the loss of humanity.

US Black Metal. Some fantastic ideas here for this debut! Having said that, unfortunately the vocals do not come out loud & clear which is a shame. But the music is great & multilayered & requires a few listens to fully absorb. Oh and the riffs are out of this world! Love the cover too :) Recommended! bmurator
